HHS PTSA hosts David Sheff author of "Beautiful Boy:

A Father's Journey Through His Son's Addiction"

Homestead High School, with the support of other PTSA's within the district is sponsoring NY times bestseller author David Sheff to come speak to parents and students about how his family has dealt with his son Nic's methamphetamine addiction. In his book David raises questions that every parent fears. How and when should a parent know whether his or her child is substance abusing, when does ones' responsibility to a loved one end and how does a family recover from these wounds and get on with their lives? David Sheff is a local author from Marin County and he and his son Nic, who has also published a book written from his own perspective of his addiction called Tweak, have been interviewed about their experiences on shows such as Oprah and CNN.
