Thank you for your contributions for our all School fully catered Teacher Luncheon. The teachers enjoyed take out Chinese Food from J&J Hawaiian BBQ on DeAnza Blvd. For a special treat, they received custom made Lawson chocolate and strawberry fortune cookies. Thank you for making this event a huge success in expressing our appreciation for the job our teachers do every day. You were all so generous, we have enough to host an extra Teacher Appreciation lunch in June! Thank you for your support of our wonderful teachers!
On Friday, May 15th, the PTA sponsored an assembly for each grade level with the founder of WEB, Micah Jacobson. If your kids came home talking a lot about the “freaky house,” they were not alone. I think the parents who had the opportunity to see the assembly laughed louder than the kids. Micah gave an entertaining message about not being afraid to be yourself, and to work hard for your dreams. He gave them a great quote from the classic movie – Sharkboy and Lavagirl- “Everything that is and ever was and ever will be …started with a dream.” He pointed out that the clothes they are wearing, the video games they play, the gym they sat in, began as someone’s dream. He had us all laughing, and wondering and considering what we could do if we allow ourselves to be ourselves. If you want more information about his organization, the website is www.boomerangproject.com .
Parents of 8th graders, please be sure to check on the tab above for the latest information about graduation. This information will be coming home in a hard copy from the school, but we will have all the information online here on the PTA graduation site. You can also access it through the school’s homepage.
