Please join us for an evening of fun and food at STRIKE Cupertino at Cupertino Square on Monday, March 9th. Lawson families can come by anytime from 3:30-7pm to enjoy all the fun activities at STRIKE. Turn your receipts for food, bowling or arcade cards to the PTA representative that evening and Lawson will receive 20%. Come and have fun that will benefit our kids!
On Tuesday, March 31st, the PTA will be hosting Rachel’s Challenge. It is a powerful assembly that will tie in with this year’s WEB theme of “ A Revolution of Kindness.” There will be 2 assemblies during the day for the kids, and another presentation in the evening at 7pm in our Event Center for the parents. It will be a wonderful opportunity for you to share in the experience with your child. Please mark your calendar and plan on attending this powerful event!
Our “Spring Fling” Staff Appreciation luncheon will be hosted by our 6th grade parents on Friday, March 13th. Please contact Kathy Fujii if you are a 6th grade parent at to let her know if you can bring food, or help set-up or clean-up, or donate to help pay for the main dish, drinks and decorations. Thanks for helping to make it a great lunch for our great staff.

Tuesday, March 17th begins our Pennies for Patients drive to raise money for the Lymphoma and Leukemia Society. I hope you can spare some change for this worthy cause.
We are accepting nominations for our Honorary Service Awards, so if you would like to recognize anyone who has done great things for our Lawson community, please e-mail Suman Ganapathy at with the name of the person you would like to see honored and a brief description of their service to our Lawson community.
The Lawson teams were an awesome force at the Silicon Valley Regional Destination Imagination tournament held on March 7th, 2009! Four of the teams are advancing to the State level competition, to be held on April 4, 2009.
Those advancing to the state level of competition are:
1) Squad 2.DI4. Team: Barish, Ryan, Derek, Archita, Aravind
2) Dinamites. Team: Yamini, Neha, Sneha, Ankita, Sonali, Sahana
3) Pink Panthers. Team: Tanaya, Sanika, Ryan, Aishwarya, Janaye, Tarun
4) Woodson & Artson Co. Team: Preetham, Malini, Jenny, Kiana, Ameera, Pavan, Rochish
On top of that, one of our teams, "Woodson & Artson Co.", won the prestigious tournament Renaissance Award, given to one team for outstanding skill in the areas of engineering, design, or performance.
